Reed College is an independent liberal arts college located in Portland’s Eastmoreland neighborhood, just 5 miles from downtown and 12 miles from the Portland, Oregon Airport. Transportation: Reed College is 12 miles from Portland International Airport. Taxis and Ubers are available at the airport and will cost approximately $30.00 to campus. Amtrak trains and Greyhound buses both serve the city of Portland.

Stay: Close to campus check in to the Residence Inn by Marriott, approximately a 10-minute drive. River’s Edge and River Place are two nice options, also close to Reed. A few minutes further away, in the heart of downtown, book a room at The Nines or the Heathman.

Coffee: Enjoy your morning brew at student run Paradox Café; located right on campus. First Cup Coffee House serves Portland’s favorite, Stumptown Coffee.

Breakfast: Serving breakfast all day, every day, students head to popular Hotcake House 24/7. If you have time, it's worth the short drive to enjoy chicken and waffles at the Screen Door.

Lunch: Students rave about the burgers and the poutines Thunderbird. Italian sandwiches are the star at Shut Up and Eat, considered one of the city’s best sandwich shops. There’s over 700 food carts registered in Portland and more are popping up each day. The carts are assembled together in food courts, and most neighborhoods have one. One of the largest is right downtown at 9th and SW Alder. Walk around and see what appeals to you, and then head to Nong Khao Man Gai, one of Portland’s most popular and legendary carts.

Dinner

Casual: Want to stay close to Reed?  Local, neighborhood spot Gladstone Street Pizza specializes in thin crust pies.

A Step Up: Hop in your car or an uber and head over to South East Division Street, dubbed Restaurant Row for Thai at Pok Pok, Indian at Bollywood Theatre, and Italian at Ava Gene’s.

Late Night Snack: Salt and Straw is a must visit, at least once during your stay. Try one of the unusual, inventive flavors at this small batch ice cream shop.

Local Attractions: From the International Rose Test Garden and Japanese Garden at Washington Park to Portland’s legendary Powell’s City of Books, there’s a lot to keep you busy after your tour.
