SHOW & TELL: GW
We visited the George Washington University twice in the last few months, allowing time to explore not just the urban campus, but the city at large. Students, when they're not hanging out at The Marvin Center on campus, take advantage of all our nation's capital has to offer, and so did we. We went early morning, before the crowds, to the always inspiring Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, paid our respects to our soldiers at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and said a quick hello to Albert Einstein. Informative, moving, and well presented, The Museum of African American History is a must. Another afternoon, we relived the last few decades of history through Pulitzer Prize-winning photographs at the NEWSEUM. On one trip we slept in style at the lovely Jefferson Hotel, close to GW's campus. Recently, we checked into the new, trendy hotel, The Line DC, located in bustling Adams Morgan, popular with students for its neighborhood feel and colorful boutiques, restaurants, and bars. The Line is home to one of D.C.'s hottest restaurants, A Rake's Progress, and the more casual Brothers and Sisters. In addition, other standout meals of our trips included All-Purpose Shaw, Compass Rose, The Dabney, and Tail Up Goat.
