SHOW & TELL: TULANE
There's no other city quite like New Orleans, and we feel lucky that in the last few years we've gotten a chance to visit for a few long stretches getting to know the city beyond first glances. On a recent visit we spent time on Tulane's campus before heading across the street for a lovely walk under the centuries-old oak trees in Audubon Park, then lunch and shopping on Magazine Street, sunset drinks at the rooftop bar of the recently revamped Pontchartrain Hotel, and an incredible dinner at Compere Lapin. The next morning we were moved at the impressive World War II Museum, listened to music on Frenchmen Street, and walked the new River Walk by the French Quarter. We ate plenty of po-boys and beignets, and the best sandwich ever at Turkey and the Wolf. From catching beads at Mardi Gras to getting swept up at the gospel tent at Jazz Fest, visiting your students at Tulane will never be boring.
